Hydra

2015. June 25.

Hydra is a simple, JavaScript game I’ve written in order to learn about JavaScript. It is also my first web application I’ve considered to be finished and published.

You can play Hydra here.

I have decided to learn JavaScript by developing small applications and my plan was to finish Hydra first, before jumping into jQuery. Right now I feel I have managed to learn and understand how to interact JavaScript with HTML efficiently, how to work with objects, and acquired how to manipulate the DOM. But there is one more thing I would like to go through before starting jQuery, which is animations. Maybe that is going to be next update for Hydra.

Hydra is basically a single player boardgame, in which your goal is to stay alive as long as possible. The game is cruel, it is heavily based on luck and some might argue, that it makes no sense at all (and I would not blame them).
